Golfing anywhere in Los Cabos is as close to sporting paradise as you can get. Top-notch resorts and professionally designed courses with magnificent vistas set Los Cabos far apart from the ordinary golf-oriented vacation.
Los Cabos has some of the most varied terrains that test and challenge each golfer. Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones II, Tom Fazio, and Tom Weiskopf all left their mark where the dramatic desert meets the azure blue sea, with Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman and other golf greats soon to follow.
Now focusing on the Pacific side of Los Cabos, with its bold, free-spirited landscapes, two prominent local developers have joined with two foreign groups to build four contiguous projects in a master development, including multiple hotels, called “Pacifico.” Four new golf courses are in the planning stages in this virgin area, with more to come.
Seven Great Greens Already Going
Seven existing courses offer seven different experiences. The Ocean Course at Cabo Del Sol, listed as one of the top 100 courses in the world by Golf Magazine, is touted as the “Pebble Beach of Baja.” The newer Desert Course is a Weiskopf design, and equally as enticing. Palmilla, the first course in the area, brought Nicklaus to Los Cabos. It offers something for every golfer, and is the perfect couples course. They say, “When in love, play Palmilla.”
Public courses include Mayan Resort’s 9-hole course in San Jose, geared for beginning and intermediate players. The Los Cabos Golf and Country Club, a Dye Corporation 18-hole, par 72 course near Cabo San Lucas, offers the only view of the famous arch.
